Outcome: Dismissal Description:Defendant S.M. was charged with 1st degree kidnapping, aggravated assault and various weapons offenses. With the benefit of getting involved early in the case, we were able to obtain key witness statements that ultimately resulted in the grand jury returning a no bill.

Date: Jun 24, 2011 Outcome: Dismissal Description:S.M. was charged with 1st Degree Armed Robbery together with his three codefendants. S.M. was present at the time and a co-occupant of the vehicle. Two of the defendants entered guilty pleas and I was able to negotiate the dismissal of all charges against S.M.

The State claimed that my client drove through a crowd of people in an attempt to run over a woman, with whom she believed her husband was having an affair. The jury unanimously returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY as to all counts.

Upon arrival, officers witnessed by client half-in/half-out of his vehicle. As they approached my client, the officer’s observed a handgun on the floor of the vehicle, near my client’s right foot. My client was a certain person to not possess a weapon due to his prior criminal record. The prosecutor’s best offer was 5 year in prison, with all 5 years to be served without parole eligibility. My client rejected the offer. At trial, after 3 days of testimony, a jury unanimously found my client NOT GUILTY.
